The supposed necessity of “choosing a niche” has confounded many aspiring bloggers. Some people set up blog after blog, abandoning each one when their interests evolve (you know who you are). Others confuse their audience by writing interior design tips and ice cream flavour reviews on the same site — that is, not demonstrating how two disparate topics might relate. A third group remains completely paralysed, and never begins!

Emilie will talk about how to craft a multifaceted blog that allows you to write about several topics, and still feels cohesive.

Emilie will cover:
  • The niche blog vs the Rennaissance blog
  • The importance of having an overarching/umbrella theme, and three ways to find yours
  • Defining your audience, and catering to their needs
  • Simple exercises to help you mine your passions, interests and curiosities, and come away with new enthusiasm for your blog
